RTFC Explorer Post #1948
The Refinery Terminal Fire Company (RTFC) and the Port of Corpus Christi have teamed up with the Boy Scouts of America to create the RTFC Fire Explorer Post #1948. We are currently seeking young men and women who are age 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years old to become RTFC Explorer
The RTFC Explorer program offers youth a structured environment in which to learn about a career as a professional firefighter. As an RTFC Explorer, you will gain intricate knowledge of the fire service profession as well as, the opportunity to learn many exciting and valuable skills taught by professional firefighters including:

- basic fire fighting techniques with real fires
- CPR & First Aid
- rappelling and the use of knots & ropes
- many other activities
